My Story

In the heart of Wisconsin, Randall faced a challenge that many trapshooting enthusiasts understand all too well. After serving 21 years in the Army, he rekindled his passion for trapshooting only to realize that he lacked the refined gear that truly reflected his love for the sport. He remembered the excitement of competing as a youth, the thrill of each shot, and the camaraderie among shooters, but his gear felt ordinary and uninspiring.

With a legacy in mind, Randall decided to take matters into his own hands. Drawing upon his ten years of leather crafting experience, he set out to create something that combined functionality with elegance—a beautifully crafted leather pouch and range bag that would not only hold his shotgun shells but also celebrate the artistry and status of its owner. Inspired, he began designing and crafting these unique pieces, and it wasn’t long before other trapshooters took notice of the intricate details and unique style of his work. They began requesting custom orders, recognizing the luxury and individuality that Diamond 8 Leather encapsulated. The Diamond 8 Lead Carrier was born.

Randall’s creations were more than just gear; they were a testament to one’s love for the sport and a badge of distinction. Each Lead Carrier and Range Bag was hand-crafted to meet individual needs, allowing customers to express their unique identities while showcasing their commitment to the art of trapshooting.

Randall is not just a skilled craftsman but a true enthusiast in the field of trapshooting; he understands what the gear must accomplish. With a background in saddle building and leadership as the president of a local gun club, he brings patience, grace, and a unique perspective to each conversation with his clients. He can effortlessly break through communication barriers, helping to translate customers' ideas into timeless, one-of-a-kind leather heirlooms. Each piece tells a story, crafts a connection, and builds a relationship—a process that takes 8 to 10 weeks, but each customer has the joy of knowing that their product was made uniquely for them.

At Diamond 8 Leather, integrity runs deep. Randall’s commitment to excellence reflects not just in the craftsmanship of his products but the bond he forms with his customers, treating them like friends rather than just transactions. As a passionate trapshooting enthusiast, a skilled leatherworker, and a dedicated coach for high school trapshooters, he continues to elevate the sport, ensuring that each piece is not just functional, but a luxurious expression of individuality.

Experience the difference with Diamond 8 Leather—a brand that transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary, every handmade piece carrying a legacy that stands the test of time.
